A light source unit and an LCD comprising the same are provided to increase the lifetime of a lamp even without decreasing a light emitting region, by forming a spiral concave and convex portion on an external surface of an electrode part. A light transmissive type lamp tube(511) contains a discharge gas, wherein the light transmissive type lamp tube has a light emitting region and electrode regions. Electrode parts(512) are respectively disposed in the electrode regions within the lamp tube. Each of the electrode parts has a plurality of concave and convex portions(515). Lead lines(513) are respectively connected to the electrode parts to apply driving voltages. The electrode part is formed in a cylinder shape. |
