An apparatus for controlling the rectilinear movement of a ladder for an aerial platform truck is provided to move a working site quickly by moving a worker boarding on a worktable in a straight line to a horizontal or vertical moving spot. The invention relates to an apparatus for controlling the rectilinear movement of a ladder for an aerial platform truck, which includes a ladder portion installed to a truck, a ladder provided with a worktable and installed on the ladder portion, a driving unit(10) expanding and contracting the ladder and moving vertically within the appointed angle and a controller(20) operating each cylinder(11,12), wherein the controller comprises a key input portion(40) inputting signals for expansion, contraction and angle rotation, a sensing portion(50) having an elastic sensor(51) and a rotary sensor(52) and detecting the expansion and angle rotation of the ladder, and a control portion(60) controlling the driving unit to expand and rotate the ladder with the signals inputted from the key input portion and the detected signals of the sensing portion.
