PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a document processing method, a document processing apparatus and a storage medium which can be easily transmitted as a format according to the document data to be inputted and a destination when transmitting the inputted document data according to a plurality of different transmitting protocols. SOLUTION: The document processing apparatus comprises: a document transmission section 309 for transmitting the inputted document data via a network according to a plurality of different network protocols; a format information base 304 for storing at least format for color data and format for monochrome data as format of document data; a format conversion section 308 for converting the document data according to the format stored in the format information base; and a document transmission control section 302 for judging whether the document data is color data or monochrome data, converting to the format on the basis of the judgement result and the destination, and transmitting the converted document data to the specified destination when at least one destination is specified from the destinations of a first protocol and a second protocol.
