PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate performances of maintenance and exchange of an apparatus for controlling the position of a visor for a protective helmet for motorcyclists and to enhance reliability and safety. SOLUTION: The apparatus for controlling is designed to rotate the visor (1) for protecting the helmet from a state overlapped with a front opening of the helmet to a partially disengaged state. The apparatus has an operating means for locking the visor in at least one position relatively to the front opening and the means for locking is provided with a control element (10) engaged with the visor with a certain degree of freedom. The control element (10) is connected to at least one tooth or pin (11a or 11b) for engaging with at least one stopper or sheet (7b) integral with the cap of the helmet. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
