PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a brick laying structure for the furnace wall of coke oven for realizing a long life coke oven wall. SOLUTION: In the brick laying structure for the furnace wall of a coke oven which has laufer bricks 40 and binder bricks 42, the laufer brick has no joint at the center part, its both end parts 44 and 45 project each to the binder part side, and it has dowels 48 and 49 respectively in the laufer direction and the binder direction on the upper and lower faces of at least its one end part. In the above-mentioned structure, the projecting amount 50 toward the binder side at the both end parts of the laufer part brick is at least 30-80% of the thickness 51 of the center part of the laufer, and the angle made by the dowels 48 and 49 respectively in the direction to the laufer and the binder on the upper face and the lower face of the laufer part brick is made to be 90 degrees.
