A binding fastener (20) of a file (10) is installed on a cover (12) formed such that the center in the width direction of its spine (12c) is bendable. The binding fastener includes one body (22a) and the other body (22b) that are formed of synthetic resin and are openable and closable. A synthetic resin lock member (32) having two-stepped hook sections (34a, 34b) is integrally formed of synthetic resin with the one body (22a). One prong member (60a) formed of metal is installed on the one body (22a), and the other prong member (60b) formed, for example, of metal is installed on the other body (22b). Further, a synthetic resin lever member (70) is slidably installed on the other body (22b).
