PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a circuit design support system and method for presenting elements in operation level description corresponding to designated components in RT level description as the factor of failure or operation composite instructions to a designer. SOLUTION: This circuit design support system is provided with an operation synthesis means 101 which performs operation synthesis processing based on operation level description, and generates intermediate description as the processing result of each process of the operation synthesis processing and RT level description as the result of the operation synthesis processing; a correspondence generating means 102 which generates the correspondence between the operation level description and RT level description; and a correspondence analyzing means 103 which extracts the elements of the operation level description corresponding to designated components in the RT level description.
