PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tool storing device capable of easily reading the tool information of the tool stored. SOLUTION: The tool storing device 1 for storing a tool 13 used in a machine tool is equipped with a storing slider 7 able to come into and go out of a plurality of storage parts 5A, 5B, 5C provided in a housing 3 and tool information reading means 19 installed around the inlets to the storage parts for reading from a tool information medium 17 provided for each tool 13 when storing the storing slider 7 storing the tool 13 in the storage parts, wherein the tool information reading means 19 are arranged corresponding to the respective tools 13 stored with the set condition held, and further stored position indicating means 23 to indicate the tool storing position 15 of the slider 7 are installed on the slider 7 corresponding to a plurality of tool storing positions 15 on the slider 7, and a stored position reading means 25 to read the stored position indicating means 23 is installed in the storage parts.
