OUT DOOR UNIT CONTROL METHOD AND CONTROL APPARATUS FOR AIR CONDITIONER

A method and an apparatus for controlling an outdoor unit of an air conditioner are provided to detect clogging of a strainer and a service valve in early stage and display abnormal states of the strainer and the service valve to the outside, thereby promptly coping with the abnormal states of the strainer and the service valve. A pressure of a low-pressure side of an outdoor unit is detected(S10). A pressure gradient per unit time of the detected pressure of a low-pressure side is calculated(S20). The detected pressure gradient is compared with a reference pressure gradient(S30). Abnormal states of a low-pressure side strainer and a low-pressure side service valve are judged based on a result of the comparison(S40). When it is judged that the low-pressure side strainer and the low-pressure side service valve are in abnormal states, the abnormal states are displayed to the outside(S50-S60).
