PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for preparing an industrially suitable aryl or heteroaryl compound which enables a high yield production of an aryl compound from a 2-aryl or heteroaryl malonic acid compound under mild conditions without requiring complicated operations. SOLUTION: The method for preparing the aryl or heteroaryl compound comprises subjecting the 2-aryl or heteroaryl malonic acid compound to decarboxylation reaction in the presence of a base.
