PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet recording device and a method of ink jet recording which inhibit the excessive temperature rise of a recording head and an evil accompanying with this as much as possible without complicating a recording device body and controlling and without generating density unevenness and hue unevenness which are conspicuous in the outputted image. SOLUTION: A waiting time before each recording scanning is executed is set stepwisely in response to information regarding the temperature of the recording head under recording and the width information of a recording medium. Thereby, since a color difference with an adjacent domain can be changed gradually even when the temperature of the recording head rises gradually during the recording, the density unevenness and the hue unevenness which are produced in connection with the difference of the waiting time become hard to sense.
