Provided are hypersensitive Eu(III) red phosphors for light emitting diodes, which are excited by a light source generated from blue or ultraviolet light emitting diodes and are suitable for red light emitting diodes having good luminescent brightness. The red phosphors for light emitting diodes has a composition represented by the formula of M_a[Eu(beta-diketonato)b(tppo)c], wherein M=Na^+, Cs^+, or K^+, b=a+3, and 2b+c=9(wherein, 3<=b<=4). The Ma[Eu(beta-diketonato)b(tppo)c] is Ma[Eu(4,4,4-trifluoro-1-phenyl-1,3-butanedionato)b(tppo)c] or Ma[Eu(4,4,4-trifluoro-1-(2-naphthyl)-1,3-butanedionato)b(tppo)c]. The red phosphors are excited by the 460-470nm wavelength.
