Restoring corrupted audio signals

A corrupted audio signal is restored by receiving a corrupted audio signal on a first channel 1 and receiving a further correlated signal on another channel 2. The audio signal is then restored using a Multi-Channel Autoregressive (AR) model that models the corrupted signal as a linear combination of scaled time shifted portions of the further signal and the corrupted signal. One embodiment describes the first signal being a Digital Audio Broadcast (DAB) signal while the further signal is an FM signal containing the same information. Therefore, if the DAB signal is corrupted it can be restored using information from the FM signal. Other embodiments relate to restoring corrupted audio in a mobile telephone and in a Voice over Internet Protocol (VOIP) system.
