The invention concerns a motor vehicle bumper beam, arranged to be maintained through its ends on elements of the chassis, such as extensions. The beam consists essentially of a tubular structure whereof the cross section is configured over at least part of its length. Said configuration comprises, from selected positions located on either side of its central portion, a turn-up of the tubular structure, said turn-up increasing towards the ends.
