<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve toner agitating and mixing property of toner to an existing developer of a developer storing chamber with a simple constitution. <P>SOLUTION: A developing device comprises a developing unit 1 arranging a developer agitating and conveying member 3 in the developer storing chamber 2 and a toner supply chamber 5 arranging a toner conveying member 7 in a supply chamber 6 and communicating with the toner supply chamber 6 to the developer storing chamber 2 of the developing unit 1. The toner supply unit 5 is positioned more downward than a surface position of a developer G stored in the developer storing chamber 2 by a lower end position, supplies supply toner T to the developer storing chamber 2, and is provided with a plurality of toner supply openings 8 (8a and 8b) made to reversely flow a part of the developer G of the developer storing chamber 2 in a reverse direction (arrow β direction) to a supply toner supply direction (arrow α direction).
