<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicular travel control system that prevents acceleration/deceleration of a vehicle from discomforting the driver while ensuring vehicle travel in a particular travel state and preventing a reduction in ride comfort for occupants in a steady travel state. <P>SOLUTION: A steady travel state target acceleration computation part 22 calculates a steady state target acceleration from a relative distance between an associated vehicle and the preceding vehicle, a steady state target following distance, a relative velocity, and predetermined first control gains K11 and K21. A particular travel state target acceleration computation part 23 calculates a particular state target acceleration from the relative distance between the associated vehicle and the preceding vehicle, a particular state target following distance shorter than the steady state target following distance, the relative velocity, and second control gains K21 and K22 larger than the first control gains K11 and K21.
