PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manage image data such as photographic image easily. SOLUTION: Display controlling part 113 displays an order of a plurality of images selected by a user on a display part 140 so as to be designated. When the user operates an operation part 130 to designate the order of the images, a reference image detecting part 112 detects the reference images of which photographed date is definite out of the plurality of photographic images selected by the user. An image managing part 111 estimates the photographed date of each of the plurality of the selected images based on the information showing the photographed date of the detected reference images and the designated order of images. In this case, the system estimates the photographed date of other images not only by adding and subtracting a certain time to and from the photographed date of the reference images but also based on a period of time between two reference images. The image managing part 111 associates the date information showing the estimated photographed date with the image data, stores into a storing part 160, and retrieves the image by using the estimated photographed date.
