PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent heap of paper chips to be broken out in paper edges of a document during conveyance of the document to effectively prevent deterioration of image quality due to vertical wrinkles generated by the paper chips with a relatively simple structure. SOLUTION: A copying machine 1 reads the document P supplied from a document feeding part 200 and moving at the predetermined speed on a second platen glass 303 with an image reading part 300 positioned under the second platen glass 303, and this copying machine 1 is provided with document position selector means 251-255 capable of selecting cross directional position of the document per one job in a conveying path 203 formed at least from the document feeding part 200 to the second platen glass 303.
