PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To recognize true users of an elevator and securely provide desired contents. SOLUTION: An information providing device for an elevator comprises an information reading means for reading and transmitting individual identification information generated from an individual information generator when a user comes into a predetermined short-distance range regardless of call operation from a landing place or an elevator car, an information storing means 9b for storing the individual identification information and favorite contents of the elevator user, an information selecting means 31 for accepting only the individual identification information received from the information reading means within a predetermined period of time from the time of receiving a signal of the call operation, an identifying means 32 for referring the information storing means 9b based on the individual identification information and determining whether a person is the elevator user to be provided with the information or not, and a provided information outputting means 33 for reading the contents corresponding to the individual identification information of the information storing means 9b and transmitting the contents to a contents outputting means installed to the landing place or the car for making it possible to provide the contents.
