The system has an adjustable inclination backrest (12) and a control device (14) which controls with a control element (16) the inclination of the backrest. A recess (18) in the rear structure of the backrest allows partial admission of the control device. In the assigned condition a part of the control device is accessible for a rear seat user of the seats. The recess is an ellipse, oblong or rectangular shape and at a middle height of the backrest with its longer expansion extending laterally between the structure of the backrest and approximately 50 to 90 per cent the width of the backrest.
