<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control a flow of electric energy from a solar cell to a capacitor, so as to improve the charge efficiency of the capacitor by the solar cell, in a charging apparatus which charges an electric double layer capacitor (hereinafter referred to as "a capacitor"). <P>SOLUTION: The charging apparatus 10 comprises a DC-DC converter 32 which has at least (a) a switch 40 and converts power to be supplied from the solar cell 12 to the capacitor 14, (b) a detecting circuit 50 which detects the charge current of the capacitor, and (c) a controller 60 which decides the duty ratio so that the charge current of the capacitor may be substantially maximized, without referring to the charge voltage Vc of the capacitor though it refers to the charge current Ic detected by the detecting circuit, and controls the switch so that the decided duty ratio may be materialized. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
