PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for processing image data in such a way as to enhance the quality of the output results of a face included in an image. SOLUTION: The range of a face area where a face exists within the image of the first image data is first determined. The first image data is converted into second image data. To convert the first image data of the normal area other than the face area, a profile for the normal area is used for conversion.
