PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problems wherein an artificial hair composed of a synthetic material has excessively high luster to make the appearance unnatural and to make the feeling different from that of the real hair, and sometimes public attention is attracted when a wig is worn. SOLUTION: The improved artificial hair or doll's hair comprises at least a synthetic material supporter 2. The artificial hair 1 comprises a polyester, polyamide or fancy acrylonitrile containing 1-5 vol.% aerogel. In another aspect, the improved artificial hair or doll's hair comprises a monofilament covered with a polyurethane, a vinylic polymer, an acrylate or silicic acid containing the aerogel.
