PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To dress a honing stone in correspondence with a honing gear different in a tooth surface, especially in a pressure angle error without preparing a plurality of kinds of dress gears. SOLUTION: A position on a changing region to pressure-weld on a tooth surface of the honing stone is set in accordance with the tooth surface of the honing gear by using the dress gear larger in tooth width than the honing gear as the dress gear and furnished with a tooth surface having the changing region where the pressure angle error against a standard tooth profile continuously changes in the tooth width direction.
