<p>PURPOSE:To prevent a strip from meandering while making width rolling by a pair of vertical rolls by moving the pair of vertical rolls according to the meandering amount of the strip for sliding the relative position of both vertical rolls by a fixed amount in a longitudinal direction of the strip. CONSTITUTION:A strip 1 is conveyed on a rolling line in a direction (A), and rolled in directions of thickness and width by a horizontal roll 2 and a vertical roll 3 respectively. Then, the vertical roll 3 is moved horizontally in a longitudinal direction of the strip 1 by an offset cylinder 4. At this stage, the vertical roll 3 controls the transfer by a control circuit, which is constructed of a meandering amount detector 9 of the strip 1 provided on the front stage of the horizontal roll 2, an computing device 10 to which an offset amount setting signal P2 is inputted as soon as the detected signal P1 therefrom is inputted for computing an offset amount, and a control device 11 to which an offset amount signal P3 therefrom is inputted for sending fixed operation commands P4 and P5 to the offset cylinder 4.</p> |
