PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel injection device capable of maintaining reliability for injection control by removing influence of various factors of dimensional fluctuation even if a mechanism (a displacement transmission mechanism) for transmitting expansion and contraction of a piezoelectric member to a control valve element is simplified in a piezo-injector. SOLUTION: This fuel injection device has a control means for elongating the piezoelectric member by impressed voltage to the piezoelectric member in accordance with predetermined applied voltage characteristic and a load detection means for detecting load impressed to the control valve element from the piezoelectric member through the displacement transmission mechanism. The control means compensates impressed voltage characteristic in accordance with detected load outputted from the load detection means. Here, various dimensional fluctuation factors are reflected in fluctuation of load impressed to the control valve element through the displacement transmission mechanism. Consequently, the dimensional fluctuation factors are reflected in compensation of the impressed voltage characteristic by compensating the impressed voltage characteristic.
