<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve operation processing capability by sharply reducing the workload of an operator by extremely easily reading a bar code, and to extremely accurately perform merchandise management and inspection based on information integration by surely eliminating any reading error. <P>SOLUTION: A merchandise arrangement region A having a plurality of arrangement parts 7 where a plurality of cosmetics S attached with bar codes are respectively arranged is set on an upper plate 4 having translucency such as a tempered glass. A scanner 13 for reading the bar codes of the plurality of cosmetics S arranged at the respective arrangement parts 7 of the merchandise arrangement area A is installed at the lower part of the upper plate 4.
