PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steering control device capable of detecting the steering torque even when an abnormality occurs in a steering shaft motor. SOLUTION: The steering control device comprises an output shaft which is connected to an input shaft in a relatively rotatable manner and mechanically connected to a motor, a rotational force transmission means which is provided between the output shaft and the motor to permit the transmission of the rotation from the motor to the output shaft while the rotation transmission efficiency from the output shaft to the motor is set to be lower than that from the motor to the output shaft, a turning actuator to give the turning assist force to a turning wheel mechanically separated from the output shaft, and a control unit to drive and control the motor and the turning actuator based on the steering torque, the steering angle and the turning quantity.
