PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chain tensioner device capable of increasing degree of freedom in design. SOLUTION: A chain tensioner 10 which assembles a plunger 15 and a spring 16 into a cylinder chamber 14 in a housing 11, communicates an oil supply passage 18 with a pressure chamber 17 formed in a back part of the plunger 15, and opens an oil inlet 18a of the oil supply passage 18 on an outer peripheral face of the housing 11 is fitted and fixed in a fitting hole 9 formed in a chain case 8. A peripheral channel 20 passing through a position of the oil inlet 18a of the oil supply passage 18 is formed at the outer periphery of the housing 11, and a supply passage 21 formed in the chain case 8 is communicated with the oil supply passage 18 through the peripheral channel 20 to increase degree of freedom in design on a chain tensioner 10 side.
