PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming method in which high image quality is obtained in the case of toner of particularly a spherical shape and small grain size in order to enhance the degree of a margin for residual toner cleaning, and good cleanability and environmentally independent cleaning stability can be obtained. SOLUTION: The image forming method having a process of forming a toner image on an image carrier, a process of transferring formed toner image, and a cleaning process of removing the transfer residue toner from the top of the image carrier, is characterized in that: a shape coefficient SF1 of the toner is 105 to 130; SF2 is 105 to 140; the cleaning process is performed by using a cleaning blade formed by molding a rubber elastic body to a plate shape; the rubber hardness of the cleaning blade is≥75°; the rebound resilience thereof is≤20% at 23°C; and the angle formed by the end surface of the cleaning blade and the image carrier is 72 to 85°.
