<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing apparatus which solves the problem that erasure or recording is carried out wrong, for example, to a paper to which the image erasure or image recording is not permitted by enabling an attribute of the sheet subjected to the erasure and recording to be managed, the problem that erasure/recording is carried out to a sheet whose number of use times reaches tolerance limits, and the problem that sheets not subjected to erasure/recording afterwards and other normal sheets are brought in a mix state. <P>SOLUTION: The sheet is stopped when the sheet reaches the position of a non-contact IC tag read/write part 5. Data of the non-contact IC tag of the sheet is read. When its processing kind is a state in which the erasure/recording of images is permitted, and moreover when the number of use times of the sheet does not reach the tolerance limits, the number of use times is incremented and written, and a predetermined image is recorded to the sheet.
