PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture a diaryl derivative at a low cost and in a short time. SOLUTION: In the method of manufacturing the diaryl derivative expressed by general formula (1): Ar<SP>1</SP>-Ar<SP>2</SP>in which Ar<SP>1</SP>and Ar<SP>2</SP>show each a phenyl group, a condensed cyclic group, or a heterocyclic group optionally having one or more substituent groups, and Ar<SP>1</SP>and Ar<SP>2</SP>are optionally the same or different; a boron derivative expressed by general formula (2): Ar<SP>1</SP>-B(OR<SP>3</SP>)<SB>2</SB>(2), in which Ar<SP>1</SP>shows one the same as being mentioned above; R<SP>3</SP>shows a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, a cycloalkyl group, or an aryl group; is reacted with an aryl derivative expressed by general formula (3): X-Ar<SP>2</SP>(3) in whch X shows an iodine atom, a bromine atom, or R<SP>4</SP>-SO<SB>3</SB>-; R<SP>4</SP>shows an alkyl group, a fluorinated alkyl group or an aryl group; Ar<SP>2</SP>shows one the same as being mentioned above; in the presence of a base and a palladium catalyst in an aqueous solvent.
