There is provided a non-aqueous electrolyte secondary cell including a positive electrode, a negative electrode, a separator arranged between the positive electrode and the negative electrode, and electrolyte. The positive electrode contains a positive electrode active material consisting of composite oxide particles expressed by a general expression LixMe1-y-zMyLzO2. In the general expression, the element Me is at least one transition metal element excluding Ti, Mn, Y, and Zr; the element M is at least one element selected from a group consisting of Mg, Ti, Mn and Zn; and the element L is at least one element selected from a group consisting of Al, Ca, Ba, Sr, Y, and Zr, wherein 1 <= x <= 1.05, 0.005 <= y <= 0.1 (but 0.005 <= y <= 0.5 when the element M is Mn), and 0 <= z <= 0.05 are satisfied. The separator consists of a plurality of layered single- layer films, each of which has a fine porous structure. The single-layer film of the positive electrode side selected from the single-layer films and facing the positive electrode is made of polypropylene. |
