摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device and its driving method that can increase luminance according to a display load rate. <P>SOLUTION: Provided is the display device having a capacitive load (Cij), clamp circuits (103, 104) which clamp the potential of the capacitive load to a high level and a low level, power collecting circuits (103, 104) which collect electric power from the capacitive load and supply the collected electric power to the capacitive load, a display load rate detection section (111) for detecting the display load rate, and a control section (112). The control section controls the potential of the capacitive load by the clamp circuits without using the power collecting circuits when the detected display load rate is smaller than a 1st threshold and controls the capacitive load potential by the power collecting circuits and clamp circuits when the detected display load rate is larger than the 1st threshold. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
