<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an optical unit of a single panel type which is simply constituted and is good in utilization efficiency of light and a display device. <P>SOLUTION: The video display device has a dichroic mirror for separating light into a plurality of colors, and irradiates a rotary polyhedron with the light of the plurality of the colors reflected by the dichroic mirror. The respective different places of display elements are irradiated with the light of the plurality of the colors emitted from the rotary polyhedron and the light of the plurality of the colors is moved in one direction on the display elements by rotating the rotary polyhedron and thereby the color video is projected from a projection lens. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
