PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To back up an ATS-P on-train vehicle on one end side (the front vehicle side) at the occurrence of a failure by an ATS-P on-train device on the other end side (the rear vehicle side). SOLUTION: The train control device using ATS-P on-train devices is equipped with ATS-P on-train devices on the 1 end side and the 2 end side of the train respectively. It comprises a switching and operating means stopping the operation of the ATS-P on-train device with a failure and switching it to the ATS-P on-train device on the other end side when a failure occurs in any one of the ATS-P on-train devices on the 1 end side and the 2 end side of the train, and a speed check pattern forming means subtracting the length of its own train and forming a prescribed speed check pattern in the ATS-P on-train device on the other end side operated by the switching.
