PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the excitation system of a stepping motor which can avoid a resonance with a cheap system and to provide an imaging apparatus having a stepping motor for driving with this excitation system. SOLUTION: When the driving frequency of the stepping motor driven with a 1-2 phase excitation system is lower than a predetermined drive frequency, in the control unit of 1/8 of one cycle of the 1-2 phase excitation system, in order to degauss a yoke, the excitation system of the stepping motor which establishes a time duration (F42, F44) for short circuiting the energization of a coil is provided.
