PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique by which a metallic composite material-made formed product in which a volume-containing ratio of ceramic is made different by portions of the formed product. SOLUTION: In the method for forming the metallic composite material-made formed product, a second billet 77 is prepared by using the metallic composite material in which a matrix is an aluminum alloy 22, a reinforcing material is a ceramic and the ceramic are an agglomerate 21 of alumina. When the second billet 77 is heated to a prescribed temperature, and is pressed by a metallic mold 78 to form a second formed product 68, the compressing ratio (Hb/h1) (wherein, Hb is billet height before forming and h1 is billet height after forming) is changed between a fastening part 72 positioned at the center part of the second formed product 68 and a sliding part 74 positioned at the peripheral part thereof, so that the ceramic volume-containing ratio of the second formed product 68 is made different between the fastening part 72 and the sliding part 74.
