PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a commutator for a motor improved in the life of the commutator, which can improve the durability and wear resistance of the motor commutator to prevent carbonization of the commutator piece caused by a long use of the motor. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the commutator for a motor comprises a step for drawing a rod into a piece shape, a step for cutting each piece by each standard to form a commutator piece, a step for subjecting the respective commutator pieces to the liquefied nitrogen heat treatment, a step for inserting the heat-treated commutator pieces into a molding mold to set them in a circle so as to form insulation resin intervals between the commutator pieces respectively to insert a bush at the center thereof, a step for extruding or injecting an insulation resin into the molding mold to form an insulating resin layer, and a step for machining the inner and outer diameters of the commutator thus formed.
