PURPOSE:To prevent the occurrence of scratch in a sheet by transporting a sheet pressed and bent by tensile force of a pressing belt, which is produced by deforming the pressing belt along the sheet. CONSTITUTION:When a sheet S is transferred upward under the displacing operation of transport belts 220a, 220b, the sheet S pushes up an inclined part of a pressing belt 252a-c on rotating shaft 208a side to the movable roller 230a side. The pressing belt 252a-c is tensed by movable rollers 228a, 230a and a fixed roller 232a. That is, as the sheet S is bent and displaced upward along the transport belts 220a, 220b and an auxiliary roller, the pressing belt 252a-252c is tensed, and the sheet S is pressed and bent by the tensile force. In this arrangement, the sheet can be transported safely.
