The present invention relates to an anti-collision device for automatically closing level crossings. It makes it possible to avoid any collision on a single-track or double-track railway line, without any human intervention. It has the advantage of avoiding any risks in the transmission and reception of information, and of immediately informing a train driver thereof from a level crossing with or without human intervention. A warning light 1 on the barrier 2 and a switch trigger the electric motor 5 which controls the rack actuator which allows the plates 6 to be lowered or raised from or into the anti-collision position so as to cause the trains to stop. <IMAGE>
