AGENT FOR NEUTRALIZING ENTEROTOXIN OF STAPHYLOCOCCUS

PURPOSE:To obtain the titled neutralizing agent effective for the prevention and remedy for food poisoning caused by staphylococci, by using a higher fatty acid as an active component. CONSTITUTION:The objective neutralizing agent for staphylococcus enterotoxin (called as enterotoxin) is composed of a >=12C fatty acid, preferably 16-22C fatty acid. The agent can be administered by oral administration or infusion in blood. >=1mg of the active component is necessary for neutralizing 10mug of enterotoxin and the use of 10-100mg of the component is suitable per dose for adult for the remedy or prevention of food poisoning caused by staphylococci. It can be used also as a food additive to neutralize and intoxicate enterotoxin produced by the proliferation of staphylococci in a food.
