PURPOSE:To obtain an inexpensive and high-reliability cleaning mechanism with very simple constitution by constituting an image erasing member of a fixed magnet and moving a recording member in the periphery of the erasing member in the direction of gravity. CONSTITUTION:A toner 1 is packed between a recording sheet 5 and a cleaning part nonmagnetic metallic plate 15 and is held by the magnetic force of a magnet 9. When the recording sheet 5 is moved downward from the upper part of the cleaning part, the toner 1 which forms an image on the recording sheet is rubbed against the toner 1 packed between the recording sheet 5 and the cleaning part and is peeled from the recording sheet 5 by the magnetic force of the magnet 5. At this time, the electric charge is leaked and the remaining electric charge disappears because the nonmagnetic metallic plate 15 is earthed. Further, the toner 1 in the lower part is pushed by the toner 1 from the upper part and is freely dropped by gravity according as the recording sheet 5 is moved, and the dropped toner can be used for recording again. Thus, the cleaning mechanism is inexpensively constituted with the very simple constitution.
