PURPOSE:To crosslink a poly(arylene sulfide) resin at a high efficiency with ease of handling, by using a polyfunctional maleimide compd. as a curing accelerator for the poly(arylene sulfide) resin. CONSTITUTION:In crosslinking a poly(arylene sulfide) resin, a poly(arylene sulfide) resin contg. a polyfunctional maleimide compd. having at least two maleimide groups per molecule is heat-treated in the presence of oxygen. The polyfunctional maleimide compd. is a compd. obtd. by a dehydration reaction of a polyamino compd. with maleic anhydride. As the polyamino compd., arom. polyamino compds. are preferred from the viewpoint of heat resistance. As the poly(arylene sulfide) polymer, poly(phenylene sulfide) polymer is particularly preferred.
