PURPOSE:To obtain a plant growth accelerator suitable for Solanaceae plants, true grasses and Cruciferae plants and their seeds, by using a norditerpene extracted from Nagi tree, a Chinese black pine. CONSTITUTION:The subject plant growth accelerator contains, as an active ingredient, a norditerpene of formula I (R<1>-R<3> are H, hydroxyl, R<1> and R<2> or R<2> and R<3> incorporate respectively to form epoxy group, R<4> is methyl, hydroxymethyl) such as nagilactone E of formula II or nagilactone X of formula III. The plant growth accelerator can be applied to tomato seeds, tomato fruits, rice plant seeds, vegetable seeds, cucumber seeds and cucumbas. The compound is applied in the form of an aqueous solution of preferably 0.05-50ppm.
