The U-shaped channel has one continuous side wall, and a discontinuous second side wall and bottom wall. Thus, bending of the channel occurs in one direction only. Vertical raised ridges are provided on the inside of at least one of the sides of the channel so that frictional contact between the ribbon and the leader is reduced without a reduction in the flexibility of the leader. A number of top latches are provided to connect the two sides of the channel so that the leader achieves good ribbon tracing and protects the ribbon from contact with anything other than the leader.
