PURPOSE:To obtain a tumor preventive agent, containing a citrus limonoid as an active ingredient and capable of expecting preventive effects on tumor induced by benzpyrene by ingestion for a long period. CONSTITUTION:A preventive agent containing a citrus limonoid (e.g., bitter ingredient of orange, lemon, lime, grapefruit, Citrus UNSHIU Marc., Citrus NATSUDAIDAI Hayata or Citrus reticulata Blanco) as an active ingredient. Limonin expressed by formula I, nomiline derivative formula 11, etc., are cited as the citrus limonoid. The citrus limonoid is present in the form bound to glucose as indicated by formulas III and IV. The compound expressed by formula I, etc., are administered as a tumor preventive agent in an amount of normally about 1-100mg/kg, preferably 2-20mg/kg, more preferably 8-10mg/kg in 1 several divided portions a day. |
