PURPOSE:To surely input satisfactory image information by inclining an abutting surface, onto which the belly surface of a finger abuts, in the lengthwise direction of the finger. CONSTITUTION:A prism 3 of a finger image input deice 11 is arranged so that, for an abutting surface 5 of a finger 1, the tip side of a finger 1 is lowered by an inclination at, for example, 45 deg. along a direction to ride on the finger 1, and the positions of an illuminating means 7 and a television camera 9 to the prism 3 are arranged as indicated in a drawing. By giving a force so as to draw the finger to a foreground side at the time of placing the finger 1 on to the abutting surface 5 by a user, the belly surface of the finger 1 works so as to be vertically pressed to the abutting surface 5, thereby, adherence between the finger 1 and abutting surface 5 is made high, and the satisfactory image information can be obtained. |
