PURPOSE:To simultaneously produce plural timbres with simple constitution by generating the musical tone signals corresponding to the timbre assignment state of a timbre assigning means in accordance with the timbre control information read out of a memory means. CONSTITUTION:The timbre control information corresponding to the timbre assignment state is read out of the memory means 18 when one or plural timbres are assigned by the timbre assigning means FSW. The musical tone signals corresponding to the timbre assignment state are generated in accordance with the timbre control information relating to reading out from a sound source means 22. The need for providing plural musical tone generating channels in parallel or time division to the sound source means 22 is, therefore, eliminated. Mixing of the musical tone signals of the plural systems is obviated and the generation of an undesired increase in sound volume by the mixing is prevented. The constitution is simplified and the cost is reduced in this way. |
