PURPOSE:To stabilize ink density constantly and achieve highquality recording by varying the relative velocity of a multitime recording ink film and a recording paper at the time of thermal transfer, according to the number of times the ink film is used. CONSTITUTION:The relative velocity of a recording paper 4 and a multi-time recording ink film 3 at the time of thermal transfer is varied according to the number of times the ink film 3 is used. That is, the feeding velocity of the paper 4 is constantly fixed, whereas the taking-up velocity of the ink film 3 is lower than the fixed velocity in the beginning period of use of an ink but is gradually increased with the number of times the ink film 3 is used. After a near-end condition of the ink film 3 is detected, the ink film 3 is again rewound, and the second-time use of the ink is started. This process is repeated 3 or 4 times, until the useful life of the multi-time recording ink film 3 expires. |
